"Band of Brothers" is the name of our ministry to men, and it reminds us that we need each other because we are in the middle of a spiritual battle. The purpose of Band of Brothers is to equip men to fulfill their biblical roles as spiritual leaders in the home, church, and community.   We work to promote a spirit of fellowship among the men of Church at the Cross by offering times of prayer, Bible study, and special events that give us the opportunity to come together as a group and build relationships. 

FRIDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY W/PASTOR GREGG 

Pastor Gregg leads a men’s Bible study on Fridays at 6:30 a.m. in The Bessant House (located by the church’s largefishing pond).  The studies can be topical, or in-depth studies of a particular book of the Bible.

MENTORING 101

Dozens of men in our church are trained, equipped and available to lead men through the Mentoring 101 study (5 sessions, 1 per week at a time you and your mentor choose).  If you decide to get involved in this outstanding study, we will provide your workbook.  If you and your mentor are agreeable, there are additional studies in the Mentoring series you may want to experience together.  So many men are now building the right kind of Christ-centered relationships God intended...will you be the next one to step up and get involved?  E-mail Pastor Gregg if you'd like to get paired up for the Mentoring 101 study.

ACCOUNTABILITY GROUPS

Accountability Groups are small-group meetings with 3-4 men present.  The group decides when it will meet and for how long. Some groups are ongoing and meet weekly for prayer. Others meet weekly, too, but their primary purpose is to study the Bible or a particular growth study.  Bottom line:  the groups are in control oftheir destiny!  Many men experience a deep level of relationship and friendship in one of these groups.  If you feel like you would benefit from being apart of one of these Accountability Groups, ask your LIFE Group teacher if your class is sponsoring one.  If not, email Pastor Toby and he'll get you connected to a group as soon as possible.

WORKDAYS

We like to find ways men can serve and usetheir time and talents for God. We host church campus workdays, various community service projects, local prison ministry outreach, and more.  

MISSIONTRIPS/CONSTRUCTION TRIPS

We are planning a “men only” trip to Galveston, Texas in late spring 2010 to do some construction work a a church that was devastated by Hurricane Ike in 2008.  We will spend approximately 5 days there serving, building, encouraging, and helping that church get its feet back on the ground.  If you have some days off you can take from work, and if you wouldn’t mind some good old fashioned manual labor, this is the trip for you!  Keep checking back here for dates and costs!

GOLF TOURNAMENT

This is one of the most popular events each year!  Our annual tournament is a Florida Scramble format and it has plenty of competition and good times.  Trophies, prizes, and skills contests make this a great day of golf with the guys!  Men are encouraged to invite friends from the workplace or other social groups...the more the merrier.  Watch here for more details about our next golf outing.
